Gators UNIDOS will focus on educational, mentorship, and sponsorship opportunities connecting one generation of Latino University of Florida Gators, to the next.
The Gators Unidos Scholarship (GUS) Fund Award was created to bridge a connection between previous generations of Latino Gator Alumni to the next. Each year, a select number of undergraduate students and graduate upperclassmen Hispanic/Latino University of Florida Gators will receive the distinction of being recipients of the GUS award; granting them $2,500 financial aid per recipient, access to professional development resources, entered into our sponsorship program for one year, access to a peer network of Latino Alumni to leverage upon through their time at UF and beyond and access to the premium SUMA WEALTH app to help you reach your financial goals.
This scholarship will be distributed through the UF Association of Hispanic Alumni (UFHA).
*Applications will open January 2025.
For all Gator Alumni who donate/participate in this intiative & select students who apply to our scholarship, will be invited to our private LinkedIn Group to connect with Latino Gators worldwide.
GUS recipient(s) will be matched with Latino Gator Alumni in their industry of interest or study. As sponsors, they will provide guidance, support and strategic introductions to help fuel student’s career aspirations.

Dayana Falcon grew up in Miami where the warmth & electricity rubbed off on her starting at an early age. Being the first in her family to attend college, and receive a full scholarship, she's created Gators Unidos to invest in the untapped potential of the next generation of Latino Gators.
Cuban Roots
Jason Meneses, born in Venezuela, grew up in South Florida. At UF, he completed his Bachelor’s & Masters in Accounting. Being 1st-Gen led him to self-learn and quickly adjust as he progressed through school & into a successful career; helping others in similar situations is a passion for him too.
Venezuelan Roots
Daniel Pimentel is an Assistant Professor of Immersive Media Psychology at the School of Journalism in Portland, Oregon. Daniel’s research, which has been published in top-tier international conferences and academic journals, focuses on the prosocial implications of cross-reality (XR) media platforms.
DR Roots
Jackie grew up between two cultures, splitting time between Miami and Panama. She’s a proud UF grad, where she studied advertising & business. She’s since worked as an advertising strategist in the multicultural space, developing a specialization and passion for lifting up Latino voices and stories.
Panama Roots
Nicole is a proud 1st-gen Cuban-American & the founder of n/volve collective, a brand development studio. At UF was heavily involved with Ad Society, Dance Marathon and her sorority. Since graduating, she's worked as a publicist, marketing expert & event planner for some of South Florida's best luxury lifestyle brands.
